The Garden Party traditionally welcomes our new students to IBS, and this year they were joined by alumni returning to campus for the anniversary celebration. New Foundation, BSc and MSc students, current members of our community and alumni from different graduating years had the opportunity to meet, reconnect and celebrate together – bringing the past, present and future of IBS together for one memorable afternoon and evening.

A highlight of the celebration was a look back at the story of IBS. Dr István Tamás, Founding Rector, and Dr László Láng, Rector Emeritus, shared memories and reflections from the past 35 years, offering a personal glimpse into the history and development of the institution.

One of the most symbolic moments of the evening was the planting of the IBS 35th Anniversary Tree. The ceremony created a lasting reminder of this important milestone and a symbol of the IBS community and its continued growth.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, there was plenty happening around campus. Guests painted bricks for our future memory wall, tested their knowledge in an IBS anniversary quiz and enjoyed a wide selection of food trucks. The celebration continued into the evening with music and plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends and make new connections.

Seeing new students, current members of our community and alumni from different generations together made this Garden Party particularly special. It was not only an opportunity to look back at the past 35 years, but also to celebrate the people who have shaped IBS and welcome those who are just beginning their journey with us.
